The Himba women and girls cover their hair with clay, creating clay dreadlocks and smear their bodies to protect themselves from the sun and mosquitos. Etosha national park totally took me by surprise. In the North Western corner of Namibia, it is a truly wonderful place to go on safari. What an amazingly beautiful place, De Hoop has safari for animals, like deer, zebra, baboons, ostrich etc… But it also has sand dunes and ocean with sandy beaches and rock pools to play in. One of my favourite places in South Africa so far.

Birds of Eden this time round was a much more enjoyable and less stressful experience. Even at feeding time when I definitely felt i had become one of the birds getting so close and being involved with the squabbling for food! Macaws wings are surprisingly large and strong!
Monkeyland Take Two, South Africa

Second shoot at monkey land, I definitely think that I have improved from the last time I went to this place. Monkey’s are definitely not the easiest animals to photograph as they are moving fast in and out of patchy light and sometimes hiding high up in the trees!

The second chum trip was a lot of fun, saw a couple of great white sharks, but have to say that actually the highlight was playing with a seal we named Savannah. She was very cute and came right up to the boat spraying us with water. This time there was no sea sickness and […]
